A film by Hans W. Stachowiak, based on true happenings
The story describes the story of Marc McNeil, a renowned Chicago lawyer who discovers one day that his real parents are native Indians who are living in a reservation in the South. During his first visit, he is confronted with the reality of their miserable life and the hopeless situation inside the reservation. Spending some time with his new family, Marc learns about the Indian nation, the difficulty to transmit traditions to new generations and the danger of the Indian tribals to disappear … .
Even more, his grandfather, the chief of the tribe, tells him that thousands of acres of his parent’s land have been “taken away”. He shows Marc the original “sales contract” who promises to verify the circumstances of the sale.
Back in Chicago, he finds some irregularities, some strange connections linked to the deal: powerful politicians and corporations, but also… native Indians.
His investigation seems to disturb more and more people who strongly recommend Marc to close the case and to return to his own business.
Motivated to not disappoint his newly discovered real parents and the promise he made, he continues to put some suspicious facts together, going from surprise to surprise as the truth unfolds… Even his own business and personal life gets threatened after he is joined by a mysterious friend…
